Case Study – $10 Million Breach Of Confidence And Patent Entitlement Claim

We helped two UK subsidiaries of a NASDAQ listed company claim over $10million against former employees and a competitor in the English High Court.

The claims involved highly complex semiconductor integrated circuit design. Our clients alleged that the defendants had misused their confidential information, intellectual property and trade secrets to design competing products and obtain UK and US patents.

Our team worked closely with our clients’ technical teams in the UK and US, world-leading academic experts, and a multi-disciplinary counsel team across two leading London Chambers.

After mediation and extensive settlement discussions, we negotiated a final settlement that met our clients’ commercial and financial objectives.

We are pleased with the outcome of this lawsuit and are resolute in our belief that our innovation, intellectual property and trade secrets need to be vigorously protected across all regions of the world, and we will seek to defend the company against any unfair practices that we believe hurts our shareholder value.”
