Biography
I am the Interim Team Manager of the Retail Lending Department based in the Glasgow office. I am a property solicitor with experience in all aspects of property, both in retail lending and private client work.
The retail lending team deals principally with volume remortgage transactions as well as other aspects of Scottish property law, including purchases, sales, discharges and also non-standard work.
Our clients comprise a number of lender clients as well as private individuals. As well as having operational responsibility, I am also involved in the technical and transactional side of various areas of work dealt with by the team.
What inspired you to get into law?
When I was at school I was only interested in law, I didn’t consider any other career. I have worked in the Legal Sector for 20 years and it has and continues to be a fulfilling and challenging career, which I enjoy.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Meeting new clients and developing a relationship with them throughout the transaction. No two clients are the same and that is what I enjoy about my job, the people.
What do you do away from the office?
I am married and my husband and I have a little boy who is 7 years old. We also have a beagle named Norman, so most of my time outside of work is always family time, whether that is walking Norman or taking my son to one of his many sport clubs. Personally, I like to run when I can fit it in.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2012.
