Organisation Moves To Finsbury Square
The Real Estate department in the Sheffield office of law firm Irwin Mitchell has acted for the Academy of Social Sciences in acquiring prestigious offices in London’s Finsbury Square.
Established in the early 1980s, the Academy of Social Sciences is the national academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners in the social sciences. It is a member funded subscription organisation and has the mission to promote the social sciences in the United Kingdom for the public benefit.
The Academy, who through its extensive membership reaches more than 90,000 social scientists, provides a key role in contributing to public debates on issues affecting the social sciences and recently through its Campaign for Social Science published a landmark report, ‘The Business of People’, which presents a clear and compelling policy argument for the social sciences.

“I am delighted with the level of professionalism shown by Irwin Mitchell in handling this transaction on our behalf. Not only did we receive good practical advice, particularly about legal and procedural matters, at many stages along the way, but it was given in such a friendly and helpful way, making the whole transaction altogether easier to manage from our perspective than it might otherwise have been. I should be glad to commend the Sheffield office of Irwin Mitchell to anyone contemplating similar commercial property transactions.”
