What’s the process?
It’s very straightforward to use our online Wills service:
- Complete this online questionnaire. This covers basic questions about your property and assets and who you wish to leave them to.
- We’ll review your answers and get in touch if we need any more information from you.
- When we’re happy we’ve got everything we need, we’ll prepare a draft Will within 10 working days. You can contact us at any point to discuss any concerns or questions you have.
- Once you’re happy with the draft Will, we’ll send you an original to sign, along with detailed instructions on the signing process.
- After you’ve signed it in the presence of two witnesses, you can send it back to us for storage, or make your own arrangements.

Why should I make a Will?
By writing down your wishes in an official Will, you can ensure your estate will be dealt with in the way you want after you die. Writing a Will enables you to:
- Provide for your spouse, children and other loved ones
- Make sure your property and assets are given to the people you want them to go to
- Plan effectively to minimise inheritance tax and other taxes
- Protect your assets for future generations
- Nominate someone as executor to administer your estate
If you have children who are still minors, you can also appoint legal guardians for them in case something happens to you before they turn 18.

What should I put in my Will?
The details of everyone’s estate will be different, but the key things to consider are:
- What property and assets do you own?
- Who are your beneficiaries and what inheritance do you want to leave them?
- Who will be the executor(s) of your estate?
If you’re worried about who would make decisions on your behalf if you lost mental capacity in later life, you might also want to think about making a Lasting Power of Attorney as part of your Will.

How much does it cost?
It costs £195 for a single Will and £295 for ‘mirror’ Wills for couples.
The cost may be higher if your estate is particularly large or your instructions are complicated. When we receive your questionnaire we’ll be able to see if your requirements are more complex than a standard Will. We’ll let you know in advance of any additional costs and you don’t have to go ahead with it if you don’t want to.

What if I want to change my will later on?
Circumstances change, and people often need to amend their Wills. If you want to make changes or add a codicil (for a minor change or addition) at a later time, you can just let us know and we’ll update it.

How Long Does It Take?
The online questionnaire should only take around 10 minutes. Once you’ve filled out the online questionnaire, we can send you a draft within 10 working days.
If we need to clarify anything or provide extra advice, it might take a bit longer – but we’ll be able to give a clear estimate once we receive your form.

Yes, we can. If you are a Wills Assured client, this service comes free of charge.
It’s important that your Will is stored in a safe location, away from the risk of theft, fire or water damage. Our specialist storage facility ensures your Will is kept safe and secure and can be easily accessed after your death, giving you peace of mind and making things easier for your loved ones.
