Sustaining multiple injuries can leave you or a loved one uncertain of your recovery and future. Our solicitors know how to get the compensation and rehabilitation support you need to move forward. Contact our team today to start your claim.

Most cases we handle are on a no win no fee basis. This means there’s no financial risk to you if your claim is unsuccessful. We offer a free initial consultation to discuss your case and give you advice on how to move forward. We’ll also advise you on how much compensation you can expect.

What are multiple injury claims?

Multiple injury claims are when a person is trying to claim compensation after sustaining more than one injury. This could be from an accident or someone’s negligence.

We’ve helped clients with a range of multiple injuries, such as:

  • Fractured bones
  • Spinal injuries
  • Brain injuries
  • Facial injuries
  • Burn injuries.

If you’ve sustained another type of injury not listed above, contact our team. It’s likely we’ll be able to help you no matter what the injury types.

What can cause multiple injuries?

Our lawyers have experience in multiple injury claims caused by:

  • Road traffic accidents
  • Falls from height
  • Accidents at work.

If your injuries were caused by another type of accident or negligence, contact our team to see if you can make a claim.

Multiple injuries often involve bone fractures, brain injuries, or both. Injuries like these can leave you with physical and emotional trauma. Our solicitors understand how these injuries can dramatically change your life, and we’ll work hard to get you the compensation you deserve.

Why choose Irwin Mitchell to help with your multiple injuries claim?

Multiple Injury Claims - More Information

Your multiple injury claim will be calculated to make sure your physical, mental, and financial needs are met.

Your compensation will be split into two categories:

  • Special damages – the money you’ve lost from your injuries, such as medical expenses, loss of earnings, and travel costs.
  • General damages – this is for your physical and psychological injuries.

For multiple injury claims, you’ve three years from the date of the accident or incident to claim.

There are some exceptions that you need to consider when you make a claim:

  • There are no time limits for someone who lacks mental capacity to make their own claim
  • If you’re claiming on behalf of someone under 18, the three-year limit doesn’t start until their 18th birthday
  • If your injuries happened abroad, the time limits will depend on the country’s laws. This is something we can offer further guidance on when you contact us.

Each multiple injury claim is unique, which means the compensation amount will differ from claim to claim.

During your free initial consultation, we’ll find out more about your injuries, and we’ll be able to offer you more guidance on how much you could claim.

We’re often asked to take over cases by clients whose claim has been managed by lawyers who’ve undervalued their amount of compensation. The value of using expert solicitors is that they’ve the knowledge to get you the maximum compensation possible that covers all your needs.

I’m relieved that the legal action has ended, knowing that I can continue to improve my recovery by accessing specialist rehabilitation services which have helped me get this far."

Client Story – Jack Martindale

Jack's Story Jack Martindale

A Phenomenal Recovery

In the early hours of New Year’s Day in 2010, his life changed forever when a car veered off the road and hit him and two friends as they walked home from a party in London. Jack suffered a catastrophic brain injury and doctors repeatedly warned his parents that if he did survive, he would be unable to lead an independent life.

Jack underwent a five-hour operation to replace his shattered skull and didn't wake up until four months later. As he began to recover it became clear that the injury to his head had left him with severe amnesia and ataxia, meaning he had limited control of speech and movement.

When our solicitors took on Jack’s case we made sure he got access to the support he needed to make the best recovery and secured an early interim payment to pay for a dedicated case manager to oversee his rehabilitation and progress.

"Life will never be as I had envisaged.... But graduating with a 2:1 and having my first book published feels like a personal and professional triumph."

Expert Hand, Human Touch

"It’s been a pleasure working with Irwin Mitchell on their new campaign as they provided invaluable support during my rehabilitation." - Jack Martindale

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a multiple injury claim and single injury claim?

The key difference between a multiple injury claim and a single injury claim is a multiple injury claim involves several injuries:

  • Mutiple injury claim – a claim when you’ve sustained several injuries in one accident that was caused by somebody else. Injuries can include wounds, illness, psychological injuries, and fractures. These often follow serious injuries, and we’ll aim to retrieve compensation for all your injuries.
  • Single injury claims – a claim when you’ve sustained just one injury in an accident caused by somebody else.

How can multiple injuries affect my life?

Sustaining multiple injuries can have short- and long-term effects, depending on how serious your injuries are. You may be unable to work for a period while you recover. If you’ve very serious injuries, you may not be able to go back to work at all.

We’ll put your mind at ease by making sure your claim covers everything you need. We’ve helped people get compensation that covers the costs of:

  • Special equipment
  • Home adaptations
  • Loss of earnings
  • Transport
  • Ongoing rehabilitation needed immediately, and for the rest of your life.

Can I make a no win no fee multiple injuries claim?

Yes, we do take no win no fee multiple injury claims. Using a no win no fee agreement means there’s no financial risk to you should your claim be unsuccessful.

There are other funding options that we can use and often these are better suited to you than a no win no fee agreement.

When we meet with you, we’ll discuss all funding options and what you need to do for each, and help you decide what’s best for you.

What are interim compensation payments?

Interim payments are paid while your claim is ongoing, in advance of your claim being settled. Once your claim is settled, any interim payments are taken off your final settlement amount.

Interim payments for multiple injury claims are often used to fund support and rehabilitation.
