When you make a car accident claim with us, we’ll let you know exactly what we're doing at each stage – and what we need from you.
Getting a claim started is simple, all you need to do is contact us. You can call us today on 0800 056 4110 for a free initial consultation – we'll discuss your accident, and whether we think you can claim. If we think you've got a case, your claim will usually progress through these four stages:
Stage One: Information Gathering
We'll begin by investigating the circumstances of your crash to work out exactly what happened and who was responsible. Road traffic accidents aren't always the result of a collision between two cars, there could be other causes too such as:
- Poor road maintenance, such as potholes or worn markings
- Inadequate signage or faulty signals
- Oil spills in the road
- Faulty equipment in your car
- Careless or dangerous driving on the part of another road user
If necessary we may get hold of police reports, interview witnesses, or arrange reconstruction reports if appropriate.
At the start, we’ll also determine if we can pursue your claim under a No Win No Fee* agreement, which will make sure you don't have to pay anything if the claim is unsuccessful.
Stage Two: Medical evidence and Rehabilitation
You will also have to have a medical examination with a medical expert that specialises in your injuries. They will write a report on how serious they are, what the prognosis is and what you will need to help you recover.
If your accident has left you in need of medical care and support, we’ll identify what care you need, both now and in the future.
We'll help you to access medical treatment and therapy from providers close to you, and the cost of your travel to any appointments can also be factored into your compensation. In addition, we’ll help you locate any mobility equipment or assistance with making modifications to your home or vehicle if appropriate
Depending on the severity of your injury and the length of the claims process, it may be possible to secure early compensation payments to assist with your rehabilitation costs.
Our commitment to the rehabilitation of our clients has seen us become seven-time winners of the Claimant Solicitor of the Year award at the Post Magazine’s Rehabilitation First Awards.

Stage Three: Compensation
We’ll work out how much compensation you’ll need for your injuries, losses, and for any medical care and support you require both now and in the future. The compensation amount will either be agreed with your opponent as a settlement, or determined through court proceedings.
The vast majority of cases settle out of court, so pursuing court proceedings is rare. However, if you do have to go to court, our team will be there to support you.
Stage Four: Conclusion
Your claim is concluded, and you’re awarded compensation if you’re successful. If your claim is funded under a No Win No Fee* arrangement, then you won't need to pay anything if you lose the case, while your opponent will pay most of our fees if you win.
